About the position

The Accounting and Finance Intern position at West Virginia Paving, Inc. offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting within a vertically integrated company. The intern will work closely with company staff to address common issues, provide clerical support, and assist with compliance and financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with company staff to determine solutions to common issues.
• Provide clerical support and assist staff with data entry, month-end closings, and reconciliations.
• Learn and assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related Business degree.
• Understanding knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees.
