About the position

The architectural/interior design Intern will support the Facilities Management group at CapMetro by assisting with various tasks related to space planning, project management, and design documentation. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, providing them with hands-on experience in the field of architecture and interior design while contributing to the organization's strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Complete programming and space planning tasks.
  • Support strategic initiatives including development of presentation materials, research, and drawing support.
  • Coordinate and help facilitate furniture procurement/relocations, office moves, and workspace set-ups.
  • Complete site tours to support property and facility conditional assessments, information gathering, and asset documentation.
  • Assist with project management in completing projects involving office space renovations and asset renewals/replacements.
  • Complete Autodesk Revit as-built record drawings for physical spaces.
  • Help develop strategies associated with CAD, CAD file management, COBie, CAFM, IWMS, and project close-out documentation.
  • Support CapMetro's Safety Management Systems process by following safety and security policies.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a major in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience with SketchUp and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of community and land use planning and transportation/transit planning.
  • Self-motivated and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Revit, Adobe Illustrator, and SketchUp.
  • Excellent written, oral, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with commercial design, construction management, and/or project management.
