About the position

The Undergraduate Intern position at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) offers an exciting opportunity for students in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering to gain hands-on experience within the Electromagnetic Systems team. The role involves assisting in various tasks under supervision, contributing to problem-solving, and developing reports and diagrams while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the day-to-day activities of the assigned functional area.
  • Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate, and resolve problems.
  • Assists in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams, and charts.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations during business operations.
  • Expected to work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Requirements

  • Active enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university.
  • Completion of undergraduate degree by the time the internship begins, with plans to continue in a graduate program immediately after the internship.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
  • Ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
  • Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal professionals.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $29.00 - $31.00/hr., depending on field of study and college years completed.
