About the position

The Asset Management/ESG Intern at the New York City Comptroller's Office will support the Bureau of Asset Management in overseeing the investment portfolios of the city's pension systems. This role focuses on assessing asset managers' ESG and DEI policies, monitoring their performance, and contributing to research related to net zero implementation plans. The intern will gain valuable experience in investment oversight and ESG practices while working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with conducting due diligence of asset managers across asset classes to assess their ESG and DEI policies and practices
  • Assist with monitoring asset managers across asset classes, including maintaining a spreadsheet of ESG and DEI diligence assessments and engagements of managers
  • Assist with research and tasks related to the Systems' net zero implementation plans
  • Conduct research and analysis of developments in ESG policy, best practices, and frameworks in priority areas

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college
  • Continuance as a student in college is required for employment
