About the position
LOOP is a joint venture of Marathon Petroleum Company, Shell Oil Company, and Valero, and is the only Deepwater Port in the U.S. capable of offloading and loading a wide range of vessels from Ultra Large Crude Carriers down to Medium Range Tankers. The internship program is designed to identify productive leaders of the future who are eager to learn about the company. Interns will manage projects assigned to them and assist with tasks from their Mentor. The program is broad in scope, allowing interns flexibility in managing their learning and developing their own experiences according to their interests. Each intern is required to maintain a journal of their experiences, which should be organized and may include various forms of documentation. Regular meetings with a Mentor will facilitate progress assessments and logistics for experience assignments. At the conclusion of the internship, interns will conduct a presentation detailing their experiences and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects assigned by the Mentor.
- Assist with tasks assigned by the Mentor.
- Maintain a journal of experiences during the internship.
- Organize the journal with relevant documentation such as photos and drawings.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Mentor to assess progress.
- Conduct a presentation at the end of the internship detailing experiences and productivity.
Requirements
- Must have completed one year of college with a preferred GPA of 3.0.
- Preference for applicants with industry-related experience through seasonal work or university-supervised internships.
