About the position

The Intern - Associate Underwriter position at MedPro Group is designed for students actively pursuing a degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or Business. This role provides an opportunity to train in various underwriting tasks, gain knowledge of underwriting systems, and assist with new business applications while working in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Train as an Associate Underwriter on service related tasks.
• Gain knowledge of underwriting systems and policy types.
• Gather information for New Business applications.
• Process loss runs and credential letters.
• Shadow other areas: Underwriting, Customer Service, Manual Operations.
• Assist with various other duties and project work as assigned.

Requirements

• Active pursuit of degree in Insurance, Risk Management or Business with at least 2 years completed.
• Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to succeed in high volume environments requiring personal organization, multitasking, and regular reprioritization with short turnaround time on items of high impact.
• Proven ability to work on a team or operate independently and prioritize job duties.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Mandatory computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
• Year-round availability: 15-20 hours/week during the school year and 40 hours/week during the summer.
• Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship, both now and in the future.
