About the position

The Intern, CAD Quality position at Lucid is designed for students passionate about electric vehicles and engineering. This role involves working within the Engineering Tools and PLM team to enhance CAD and PLM tools, collaborate with engineers on process innovations, and contribute to the development of training materials. The internship offers a hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, focusing on improving existing tools and implementing new strategies for CAD training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with improving existing CAD and PLM tools' internal features and help develop new ones by understanding needs, developing specifications and user stories, testing, and helping develop training materials.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify opportunities for process innovation within CAD workflows.
  • Research and implement new strategies for CAD training, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Create clear and concise communication, including verbal and written communication.
  • Work within MS Office, CATIA, and 3DExperience.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills, self-motivation, and a high level of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of Engineering fundamentals.
  • Prior CAD experience in CATIA, Solidworks, NX, Creo, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply first-principles engineering.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Public speaking experience.
  • Basic coding skills (e.g., Python, VBA) to automate CAD processes or develop custom tools.
  • Student project work such as Formula SAE, Baja, Solar Car, etc.
  • Prior internships or co-op experience.
