About the position

The Site Design Intern position at raSmith offers students the opportunity to gain practical engineering experience through on-the-job training. Interns will work closely with experienced project managers, engineers, and technicians on real projects, enhancing their problem-solving abilities and technical skills. This role is part of a well-regarded multi-disciplinary consulting firm focused on civil and structural engineering and land surveying, with a strong emphasis on client service, quality, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Pre-development due diligence
• Exhibit preparation
• Permit application
• Site planning
• Civil 3D design tasks including grading or utility design
• Technical writing or other tasks to assist the project engineers

Requirements

• Completed the Sophomore Year of a 4 year Bachelor of Science Program in Civil Engineering at a U.S. accredited college or university
• Coursework in civil engineering
• Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to solve basic engineering problems and good decision-making skills
• Skilled at planning by accurately scoping out length and difficulty of tasks and projects
• Excellent communication, detail orientation, interpersonal skills, and teamwork
