About the position

The Cytokinetics Internship Program offers a paid internship opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. This 12-week program, based at the South San Francisco headquarters, focuses on supporting high-priority projects in the cardiomyopathy section of the Cardiovascular Research Area, particularly related to the use of aficamten in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Interns will engage in trial design, implementation, and analysis, while working under the guidance of a clinical research medical doctor.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate research and operational roles in HCM trials.
  • Support the design and conduct of clinical and pre-clinical studies.
  • Verify research data and ensure accuracy.
  • Work in cross-functional teams across biotechnology.
  • Follow established guidelines in the collection of clinical data and administration of clinical studies.
  • Assist in the aggregation and analysis of study data.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, setting and achieving project timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver professional presentations.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program as a junior- or senior-level student.
  • Seeking a degree in basic sciences, pre-med, public health, epidemiology, and/or social and behavioral sciences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good communication skills and an interest in learning.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and organizational skills.
