About the position

The Continuous Improvement/IT Internship at Volvo Group offers students a unique opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting, specifically within the Circular Operations and Solutions division. This division is integral to the Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO), focusing on truck manufacturing, including Cab & Vehicle Assembly, Powertrain Production, Logistics Services, Parts Distribution, and Remanufacturing. The internship is designed to provide extensive hands-on experience, allowing students to work on significant and innovative projects alongside experienced staff and engineers. Interns will engage in various tasks that contribute to the efficiency and quality of production processes, utilizing their engineering education and continuous improvement mindset. During the internship, students will assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing effective solutions. They will help facilitate continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and indicator management, contributing to the development of skills management training. Additionally, interns will organize the VPS SharePoint and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and drive project execution. Documenting processes, workflows, and project outcomes will also be a key responsibility, along with participating in workshops and training sessions focused on continuous improvement and digitalization. This internship is not just about gaining experience; it is about making a real impact in the transportation business. Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing solutions.
  • Help facilitate continuous improvement through data analysis and indicator management.
  • Assist in the development of skills management training.
  • Help with the organization of the VPS SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and drive project execution.
  • Document processes, workflows, and project outcomes.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions on continuous improvement and digitalization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a business administration, industrial engineering, or related degree at an accredited school.
  • Completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerBi, PowerPoint).
  • Background in Lean methodology.
  • Data analytics and visualization experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of digitalization trends in manufacturing.
