About the position

Lumen is offering a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program designed for students who are eager to advance their skills in a dynamic environment. Interns will engage in various tasks that support the company's commitment to innovation and technology, while also gaining valuable experience in a remote work setting. The program runs from May 30 to August 8, 2025, and is aimed at rising seniors in college, providing them with the opportunity to contribute to real projects and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with auditing the content of documents and making updates per user request.
• Take notes on calls which are shared with users for information sharing and accountability.
• Assist in writing, proofreading, and editing copy.
• Ensure brand consistency in all copy by following existing writing guidelines.
• Communicate with superiors and other departments to ensure the written content matches any auditory or visual elements it accompanies.
• Conduct SharePoint site audits and editing.
• Support monthly newsletters.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027.
• Preferred fields include Communications, English, Writing, or related degree.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025).
• US work authorization is required; individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required; SharePoint experience is a plus.
• Background in writing where templates and standard formats are used (e.g., newsletters, newspapers, yearbooks).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SharePoint.
• Familiarity with writing for newsletters or similar formats.

Benefits

• Hourly compensation ranging from $22.00 to $35.00 per hour based on education level and experience.
