About the position

Lumen is offering a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program for students interested in digital innovation. This internship provides an opportunity to broaden knowledge, build a strong network, and kickstart a career in a supportive environment. Interns will work closely with the Copy team and collaborate with various departments to deliver creative content across Lumen's enterprise tech portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a core member of the Copy team, collaborating with UX, Video, Design, and Project Management.
• Work from a creative brief to generate strong, results-driven concepts.
• Understand, implement, and champion the Lumen brand voice.
• Present ideas internally to peers, mentors, and managers.
• Deliver final creative that meets the team's strategic objectives.
• Coordinate and collaborate across groups to create world-class content for web, digital, video, social, and more.
• Manage multiple projects and deliver work in a timely manner.
• Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs.
• Stay current on trends and competitors within the editorial sphere.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2026.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025).
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• A drive to understand emerging technologies, trends, and philosophies in marketing, communications, technology, and social media.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PPT, and Excel) and comfortable learning new project management tools (Workfront).
• Ability to work independently with little direction under tight deadlines.
• Proven experience as a copywriter or related role preferred.
• Knowledge of online content strategy and creation preferred.
