About the position

Lumen is offering a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program designed for students who are eager to advance their skills in a dynamic environment. Interns will engage in various tasks that support the company's commitment to innovation and technology, while also gaining valuable experience in a remote work setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with auditing the content of documents and making updates per user request.
• Take notes on calls and share them with users for information sharing and accountability.
• Assist in writing, proofreading, and editing copy.
• Ensure brand consistency in all copy by following existing writing guidelines.
• Communicate with superiors and other departments to ensure written content matches auditory or visual elements it accompanies.
• Conduct SharePoint site audits and editing.
• Support monthly newsletters.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027.
• Preferred fields include Communications, English, Writing, or related degree.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025).
• US work authorization is required; individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with SharePoint is a plus.
• Background in writing with templates and standard formats (e.g., newsletters, newspapers, yearbooks).
• Strong drive for results and taking initiative.
• Ability to be resourceful and adaptable.
• Ability to collaborate and make effective decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with business partners and drive conversations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to change.
