About the position

The Cybersecurity and Compliance Internship at Guidehouse offers a 10-week immersive experience for interns to engage in real-world projects while developing their skills in cybersecurity and compliance. Interns will work closely with teams to deliver meaningful contributions to clients, supported by a Buddy for guidance throughout the internship. This program emphasizes learning, networking, and professional development, preparing interns for future careers in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting workstreams that enable the assessment, development, and enhancement of business strategies, operating plans, business processes, organizational structures, and supporting infrastructure for clients.
  • Applying cybersecurity & risk management framework knowledge to support the design of client deliverables.
  • Improving cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance programs and processes.
  • Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations.
  • Conducting process and program evaluations.
  • Evaluating internal controls.
  • Conducting cybersecurity audits.
  • Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis to further support delivery.
  • Performing complex technical and economic analyses, spreadsheet creation, and project/task management.

Requirements

  • Must still be enrolled in an accredited graduate or undergraduate level degree program and graduate between Fall 2025 and Summer 2026.
  • Ability to accommodate an expected Summer 2025 start date.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country.
  • No current or future sponsorship is available for this position or related conversion offers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree/Majors Preferred: Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and/or related majors.
  • Interest and/or experience in clean energy and/or sustainability.
  • Experience working in the compliance field, preferably with an electric utility.
  • Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Heightened attention to detail.
