Intern - Data Engineer - Summer 2025

About the position

Lumen is offering a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in digital innovation, specifically within the Mass Markets organization as a Data Engineer intern. The program aims to empower interns to explore their potential while contributing to the development of machine learning models, data pipelines, and AI applications. The internship runs from May 30 to August 8, 2025, and requires a full-time commitment.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning models
• Develop data pipelines
• Create innovative AI applications
• Support digital channels for mass markets customers
• Research AI solutions to reduce costs and improve customer experience
• Manage data pipelines

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Python
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
• Experience with Python libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP
• Experience with React.Js and Node.Js
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the internship
