Lumen is seeking a Data Engineer intern for the summer of 2025, offering a 10-week immersive internship program designed for students eager to explore digital innovation. The role involves building machine learning models, developing data pipelines, and creating innovative AI applications, contributing to the company's mission of connecting people, data, and applications securely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning models
• Develop data pipelines
• Create innovative AI applications
• Support digital channel for mass markets customers
• Research AI solutions to reduce cost and improve customer experience
• Manage data pipelines

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating August 2025 - May 2027
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Excel and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Python
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Knowledge of Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• Experience with cloud platforms like GCP
• Familiarity with React.Js and Node.Js
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program
