About the position

Lumen is offering a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in digital innovation, specifically within the Mass Markets organization as a Data Engineer intern. The program aims to empower interns to explore technology and develop skills in building machine learning models, data pipelines, and AI applications, contributing to the company's mission of connecting people and data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning models
• Develop data pipelines
• Create innovative AI applications
• Support digital channels for mass markets customers
• Research AI solutions to reduce costs and improve customer experience
• Manage data pipelines

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Excel and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Python
• Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Familiarity with Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP
• Experience with React.Js and Node.Js
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program
