About the position

The Data Engineer Intern position at Lumen is a summer internship designed for students eager to explore digital innovation. This 10-week program offers hands-on experience in building machine learning models, developing data pipelines, and creating innovative AI applications. Interns will work closely with the Applications Engineering team to support digital channels for mass market customers and research AI solutions to enhance customer experience.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating August 2025 - May 2027
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Excel and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Python
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Knowledge of Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• Experience with cloud platforms like GCP
• Familiarity with React.Js and Node.Js
