About the position

Lumen is offering a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in digital innovation, specifically within the Mass Markets organization as a Data Engineer intern. The program aims to empower interns by providing hands-on experience in building machine learning models, developing data pipelines, and creating innovative AI applications. Interns will work closely with the Applications Engineering team to support digital channels for mass market customers and research AI solutions to enhance customer experience.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
• Graduating August 2025 - May 2027
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Excel and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Python
• Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Familiarity with Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP
• Experience with React.Js and Node.Js
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program
