About the position

The Intern Data Scientist position at Lumen offers students an immersive opportunity to explore digital innovation within the Finance organization. Interns will work on building statistical models and predictive tools to enhance business processes, particularly in Margin Management. This role emphasizes collaboration, curiosity, and a passion for technology, providing a platform for interns to develop their skills and contribute to meaningful projects.

Responsibilities

• Build a model to track historical trends of General Ledger mapping on the cost system and create insights for future accounting periods.
• Develop an association model for Lumen's Dark Fiber contract to ensure compliance with contractual arrangements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand complex business problems and build statistical models.
• Create new insights that drive business growth and profitability.
• Assist in building machine learning models to optimize the Rerate program.

Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating between August 2025 and May 2026.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• General knowledge of statistical models.

Benefits

• Internship compensation ranges from $26 to $43 per hour based on education level and experience.
