About the position

The Intern position at BMW Manufacturing Company is designed for students pursuing degrees in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or similar fields. This role emphasizes hands-on experience, allowing interns to engage actively in various projects and responsibilities that contribute to the company's key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality activities. Interns will work closely with suppliers and support various quality management tasks, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience while contributing to the team's success.

Responsibilities

• Help support Department KPI's (Key Performance Indicator), workshops, and quality activities.
• Work with suppliers to ensure quality products are delivered to BMW.
• Provide QMT Project Technical Support.
• Assist with IPQ Support and QZ Audit Support, including data analysis and follow-up.
• Support Q Index activities and follow-up.
• Assist in rework investigation support and follow-up.
• Steer activities for projects and create minutes and LOPs from best practice exercises.
• Maintain the lessons learned database and follow up on measures at suppliers.
• Assist supply chain and QMT engineers as needed.
• Support stabilization of supplier production and series quality projects.
• Participate in supply chain workshops and projects aimed at improving specific KPIs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
• Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
• Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
• Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
• Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
• Experience in managing or leading groups of people and some experience/knowledge in the Automotive Industry or Production Systems.
• Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and basic knowledge of MS Project and Visio.
