About the position

The Economic Research Intern position at the New York City Comptroller's Office is designed for students or recent graduates to engage in economic and revenue forecasting. The role involves producing analyses that support the office's mission to promote financial health and accountability within the city government. Interns will work closely with the Bureau of Budget to evaluate fiscal conditions and contribute to economic research efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Produce both quantitative and qualitative analyses to further the Office of the Comptroller's economic and revenue forecasting capability
  • Update a forecasting model for several key indicators of the NYC economy and project the respective impact on a component of the City's tax revenue
  • Contribute to in-depth exploration of economic trends in New York City as part of the Comptroller's monthly economic newsletter

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college
