At Lucid, we are committed to leading the future of luxury electric vehicles, and we are excited to offer a summer internship opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Low Voltage Electrical Engineering (EE) team. This internship will focus on supporting hardware development and testing of various Electronic Control Units (ECUs) that are integral to infotainment, connectivity, and control processing in our electric vehicles. As an intern, you will have the chance to work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry, contributing to the design and verification processes of our innovative products. During your internship, you will be involved in various stages of ECU design, following our established design methodology flow. You will create hardware prototypes to facilitate proof of concept using available hardware, including existing ECUs, EV boards, and PCs. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the hardware bring-up and testing of in-house developed ECUs, developing test scripts and test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage and efficiency, and documenting the test and diagnostic processes with detailed steps, procedures, and results. You will assist senior engineers in the design and verification of system hardware, identifying areas for improvement, and troubleshooting system issues. Collaboration is key, and you will work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met. Regular communication with senior engineers and team members will be essential for providing progress updates and receiving feedback. You will also participate in team meetings and contribute to team projects as needed, maintaining accurate and detailed records of all activities throughout your internship. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, computer hardware, and software, and will be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with mechanical CAD is desirable, and candidates should be comfortable reading schematics and IC datasheets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, are essential for success in this role.
