About the position

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work on a project team within the Electric Grid Infrastructure Services business unit, assisting engineering team members in executing various projects. These projects may involve designing new systems or modifying existing ones related to transmission, substations, distribution, renewable energy, and battery energy storage. This internship provides an opportunity to apply and expand your academic knowledge in Electrical Engineering while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Track and evaluate project activities, project progress, and associated data.
• Be involved in power designs and prepare specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.

Requirements

• Expected graduation date in Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Fall 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong academic background and coursework in electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior, related internship or co-op experience.
