About the position

The Energy Engineering Marketing and Communications Intern will work under the supervision of the Program Manager in the City Utilities Engineering Department. This role focuses on assisting with energy engineering and program marketing, promoting sustainability initiatives, and engaging with the public and various stakeholders. The intern is expected to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and good judgment in their daily operations, adhering to city policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach, education, communication, and marketing for resource recovery and sustainability programs.
• Engage with the public regarding sustainability programs with high energy and enthusiasm.
• Help develop educational content and marketing materials to communicate sustainability programming information.
• Assist with community events and activities related to sustainability.
• Conduct general research and maintain data tracking systems and filing systems.
• Complete miscellaneous assignments as needed.

Requirements

• Excellent written, oral, and communication skills, including during presentations, meetings, telephone calls, and emails.
• Ability to interact with the public, city incumbents, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, and professionalism.

Benefits

• Hourly pay rate between $12.00 - $16.00 per hour.
