Our Santa Ana and Ontario, CA offices are currently seeking interns in various engineering disciplines, including Roadway, Structures, Tolling, Traffic, Drainage, Construction Management, and Electrical. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the communities we serve. As an Intern Engineer, you will assist engineering teams with a variety of tasks and responsibilities. Your role will involve supporting engineers in the research, development, and design of projects, as well as preparing engineering drawings and documents as assigned. This position is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the engineering field, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting. You will also have the opportunity to learn about shop drawing and submittal procedures, enhancing your understanding of the engineering process. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about transportation and infrastructure and are ready to take on new challenges in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists engineering teams in various tasks and duties.
  • Assists engineers with research, development, and design of projects.
  • Prepares engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
  • Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
  • Understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Ability to organize information for use in drawings or other documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of 2 years of post-secondary engineering program.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
  • Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
