Electrical Equipment, Appliance, and Component Manufacturing

About the position

Ayar Labs, the global leader in optical I/O chiplets, is harnessing silicon photonics to revolutionize the scaling of AI compute hardware, and address I/O bottlenecks in the datacenter. Navigating the inflection point to deliver this technology to mass production requires enabling new and scalable test technologies that deliver known-good parts. We are looking for a motivated graduate intern to join our team as Intern in Optoelectronics Test R&D. Projects are tailored to your experience and interests, and you will be mentored by a senior engineer as you work alongside world-class engineers and scientists in the field of electronics and photonics to help drive the optical I/O revolution.

Responsibilities

  • Create and support test hardware for our industry-first PIC-based multiwavelength laser light-source product line that is a cornerstone of our optical I/O solution.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Basic experience with optical and electrical measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, SMUs, OSAs, optical fibers, electrical switch matrices, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of electro-optical characterization and data interpretation (laser output vs current, laser spectrum, photodiode I-V behavior)
  • Familiarity with at least one common programming language (e.g. Python, C++, C#)
