About the position

The Engineering Innovation Intern at Hologic is a summer internship designed for students to gain hands-on experience in product development within the medical technology field. Interns will collaborate with the engineering team to research, design, and develop new products aimed at improving healthcare outcomes, particularly in the fight against cervical cancer. This role offers exposure to real-world engineering practices, including prototyping and software tools, while also providing opportunities for networking and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Hologic engineering team to research, design, and develop new products for the Hologic Diagnostics division.
• Build and test prototypes using tools like 3D printers and the machine shop.
• Gain experience with software analysis tools such as Solidworks, Matlab, Python, and C+.
• Explore research opportunities from both technical and business perspectives.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Rising Senior preferred, majoring in Electrical, Mechanical, or Robotics engineering.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 / 4.0 preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work full-time over the summer months.

Benefits

• Hourly pay range of $22 - $28 per hour, determined by class standing and operational function.
