About the position

Layton Construction, headquartered in Salt Lake City with 12 offices nationwide, is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our in-house marketing team. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in exciting projects that contribute to our business development and marketing efforts across various departments. The internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in graphic design while working closely with stakeholders to create compelling visuals for both digital and print media. As a Graphic Design Intern, you will be involved in creating infographics, presentations, layouts, and illustrations that effectively communicate our brand message. You will refine your designs based on feedback, ensuring that the final products are polished and aligned with our brand standards. This role also includes developing creative campaigns for internal events, allowing you to showcase your design skills in a fun and engaging way. The internship is flexible, with working hours ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, accommodating your school schedule. The position is based at our corporate headquarters in Sandy, UT, and is set to start immediately, lasting for 90 days with the potential for extension based on performance and fit within the team. Responsibilities

• Create captivating visuals for digital and print media, including infographics, presentations, layouts, and illustrations.
• Refine designs based on feedback from team members and stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes.
• Ensure brand consistency across all visuals and marketing materials.
• Develop creative campaigns for internal events that align with brand standards.
• Stay updated on the latest design trends and tools to keep the team on the cutting edge.
• Organize files and follow proper naming conventions to streamline workflows.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; familiarity with AfterEffects is a plus.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs for presentations and everyday tasks.
• Strong storytelling ability through design, with a passion for creating meaningful visuals.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask in a collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and attend workshops for professional growth.

Nice-to-haves

• Graphic Design Major preferred.
• Prior internship experience is preferred but not necessary.
