About the position

We have a range of 12-week internships across our hardware teams, providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of hardware engineering. These internships are available within several business groups, including Architecture & Technology, Central Engineering Central Processing Unit, Central Engineering Systems, Solutions Engineering Implementation, Solutions Engineering Physical IP, and Solutions Engineering SoC Engineering. Each group offers a unique perspective and challenge within the Hardware Career pathway, allowing interns to explore different facets of hardware engineering. During the application process, candidates can express their interest in a specific business group or opt-in to all groups, broadening their opportunities for placement. Interns will work in small to medium-sized teams that adhere to modern Agile principles. This collaborative environment encourages engineers to share ideas, document their work, and present findings for discussion. Interns will be treated as integral members of their teams, receiving support and guidance from experienced engineers throughout their internship. The role will involve various tasks, including analyzing existing tools for improvements and automation, verifying intellectual property (IP) using diverse methodologies, implementing Arm IP in silicon process nodes, and developing system solutions for different market domains such as mobile, IoT, and data centers. Interns will also be responsible for writing specifications for Arm's IP products and systems, analyzing trade-offs between different options using software or hardware models.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing existing tools for improvements and automation.
  • Verifying IP using methodologies such as constrained random simulation, emulation, and formal methods.
  • Implementing Arm IP in silicon process nodes using design automation tools.
  • Developing system solutions using ARM IP for various market domains.
  • Writing specifications for Arm's IP products and systems, analyzing trade-offs between different options.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD).
  • Experience in at least one programming language (C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Familiarity with a hardware description language like VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
