Full-time - Intern
Wilmington, MA
Warehousing and Storage

About the position

At Symbotic, we are at the forefront of revolutionizing the supply chain through our A.I.-powered robotic technology platform. Our intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system, fundamentally changing warehouse automation to enhance efficiency, speed, and flexibility. We are committed to nurturing early career talent, which is why we offer robust Internship and Co-op programs. These programs provide students with the unique opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals on pivotal projects that shape the future of our operations. Our Summer Intern session spans 12 weeks, offering a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, while our Co-op cohorts typically run for 16 weeks during the Spring and Fall semesters. Both programs are compensated with a competitive hourly rate. As an intern, you will assist in the design, development, and testing of standardized PLC programs for control systems of warehouse automation equipment. You will contribute to the design and implementation of PLC hardware and software systems, collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines such as Hardware, Software, Control, Vision, and Safety to achieve program and test objectives. Your role will involve informing reliability test plans to identify failure modes early in the development cycle, distilling complex test data sets into easily consumable formats and dashboards that characterize the overall technical health of the system. You will also produce clear, concise presentations and confidently communicate test results to functional groups and management. Additionally, you will execute hands-on test activities of innovative robotic systems throughout the technical development process, conceptualizing, designing, building, and testing new fixtures to support the design validation process of robotic hardware. Identifying and capturing system requirements within a multidisciplinary environment will be crucial to developing test requirements that improve test methodology and equipment design. You will conduct root cause analysis of system failures to support engineering development and produce comprehensive test reports demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
