About the position

The Intern - Industrial Engineer position at Crystal Group involves reviewing and analyzing processes within the manufacturing and electronics departments. The role focuses on providing technical assistance for process improvements and implementing new equipment to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing processes, production equipment, and methods for continuous improvement projects.
  • Design, review and evaluate the manufacturing processes of new and existing products, including ergonomic assessments, productivity improvements, manufacturability, and cost improvements.
  • Develop capital expenditure proposals and perform cost justifications for new equipment.
  • Conduct studies in operations to maximize workflow, material routing, and spatial utilization.
  • Provide technical assistance and engineering support in the form of process improvement including performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventative and corrective action as required.
  • Conduct safety audits/assessments, identify and work with management to resolve safety issues, and ensure that accepted corrective actions are implemented.
  • Decide how the company should allocate its equipment and labor within the framework of existing physical constraints and budget.
  • Represent Crystal in the most positive manner with prospective and current suppliers and the community we serve.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in manufacturing.
