About the position

The Intern, Interior Designer position at Stantec Buildings offers an opportunity to join a leading global design firm focused on creating high-performance and sustainable buildings. Interns will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to various aspects of interior design, including 3D modeling, material selection, and presentation preparation. This role is ideal for students pursuing an Interior Design degree, providing hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design process and 3D development.
• Select and order finishes for projects.
• Organize and prepare for meetings.
• Incorporate designs into Revit.
• Produce presentation materials.
• Conduct basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, and programs.
• Support project team in developing interior design documentation and presentation materials.
• Assist in developing designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, and diagrams.
• Utilize BIM technologies to develop three-dimensional models of interiors.
• Research concepts, benchmarks, materials, and precedents.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an Interior Design degree from a CIDA-accredited institution.
• Must be in the 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate degree or in a master's program.
• Experience with Revit, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
