About the position
The Undergraduate Intern - International Trade Compliance position at General Atomics offers an opportunity for students studying International Business, International Affairs, International Relations, or International Studies to gain practical experience in the field of international trade compliance. The intern will assist the team in various tasks, including problem-solving, report development, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the day-to-day activities of the assigned functional area under general supervision.
- Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate, and resolve problems.
- Helps in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams, and charts.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations during business operations.
- Expected to work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Software, research skills, and database management.
- Organized and motivated with a demonstrated sense of responsibility.
- Active enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university.
- Applicants must plan to continue in a graduate program immediately after the internship if they complete their undergraduate degree before the internship begins.
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
- Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal professionals.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Benefits
- Hourly pay rate of $22.00 - $24.00/hr., depending on field of study and college years completed.
