About the position

The Desktop Support position within the End User Services organization at Seagate aims to provide exceptional support to employees by resolving complex hardware and software issues. This role focuses on troubleshooting various technical problems, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining security and integrity in the computing environment. The position offers opportunities for hands-on experience in an enterprise setting, particularly with tools like Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager and Active Directory.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage creativity to solve complex hardware and software issues related to end users' computers.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, application, hardware, audio visual, and telephony equipment problems.
  • Adapt quickly to situations faced by end users in a fast-paced environment.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware in an enterprise environment.
  • Understand the Active Directory environment.
  • Follow processes and procedures to ensure high-quality work with minimal disruptions.
  • Maintain password security, data integrity, and file system security using BitLocker.
  • Document trouble tickets from inception through closure in an Enterprise Incident Management System such as Service Now.
  • Gain experience with Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, peers, and management.
  • Experience in creating and executing innovative solutions to solve complex technical support problems.
  • General understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Experience using critical thinking skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 online applications and Windows 10/11 OS.
  • Ability to take proactive, corrective actions to resolve issues in advance of system problems.
