About the position

The IT Software Analyst Intern position at Lumen is a fully remote, 10-week summer internship program designed for rising seniors in college. Interns will work collaboratively to analyze and implement software licensing best practices, ensuring compliance with supplier agreements and corporate policies related to software asset management. This role emphasizes curiosity, innovation, and a passion for advancing technology, contributing to the long-term success of both Lumen and its customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a team environment to analyze and implement software licensing best practices.
  • Develop reports and queries from various software asset management tools to improve software asset usage tracking, specifically for Cloud-based applications.
  • Prepare executive level presentations.
  • Develop an understanding of business processes, products, and metrics related to software asset management.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
  • Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027.
  • Preferred fields include Business, Economics, Management Information Systems, Project Management, or related fields.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025).
  • US work authorization is required; individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible.
  • Strong background using Microsoft Office Suite applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including research, conceptual, and quantitative skills.
  • Effective communication skills, including business writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with diverse disciplines and adapt to different cultures.
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a customer-oriented mindset.
