About the position

The IT Software Analyst Intern position at Lumen is a fully remote, 10-week summer internship program designed for rising seniors. Interns will engage in a collaborative environment to analyze and implement software licensing best practices, ensuring compliance with supplier agreements and corporate policies related to software asset management. This role emphasizes curiosity, innovation, and a passion for advancing technology, contributing to the long-term success of Lumen and its customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a team environment to analyze and implement software licensing best practices.
  • Develop reports and queries from various software asset management tools to improve software asset usage tracking, specifically for Cloud-based applications.
  • Prepare executive level presentations.
  • Develop an understanding of business processes, products, and metrics related to software asset management.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
  • Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027.
  • Preferred fields include Business, Economics, Management Information Systems, Project Management, or related fields.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025).
  • US work authorization is required; individuals needing visa sponsorship are not eligible.
  • Strong background using Microsoft Office Suite applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including research, conceptual, and quantitative skills.
  • Effective communication skills, including business writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with diverse disciplines and adapt to different cultures.
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a customer-oriented mindset.
