About the position

The Electrical Engineering Intern position at Hypertherm offers a hands-on opportunity for students to engage in real-world projects focused on creating an IoT meter reading system. Interns will collaborate with experienced colleagues, gaining valuable skills and experience while contributing to innovative engineering solutions that enhance industrial cutting processes.

Responsibilities

• Create an IoT meter reading system from start to finish.
• Install devices on CNC machines.
• Develop APIs for the IoT system.
• Work closely with external programmers on project development.
• Design, build, and test an IoT-based maintenance schedule.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical or Software engineering-focused Bachelor degree program.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Completion of a minimum of 2 years of a college degree program and in good standing.
• Enthusiastic about learning and able to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
• Experience building software using JavaScript, C# (.NET), Python, Ruby, or other high-level programming languages.
