About the position

The OCHE Intern position is designed for students passionate about marketing, social media, and graphic design. This part-time, temporary role offers practical experience in a hybrid work environment, allowing interns to contribute to the Innovation, Commercialization, and Economic Development team at the Utah System of Higher Education. Interns will engage in creating digital content, managing social media platforms, and supporting various marketing initiatives, all while working closely with a team dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration within Utah's academic and economic landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging social media content (posts, stories, and ads) for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Design visually compelling graphics and digital collateral assets using Canva and Photoshop.
  • Develop and design PowerPoint presentations for marketing campaigns and internal use.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing social media campaigns.
  • Monitor social media engagement and performance, and generate reports on key metrics.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent branding across all digital platforms.
  • Conduct market research on trends to support innovative marketing strategies.
  • Support the creation of marketing materials for both digital and print, such as brochures, banners, and ads.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalency.
  • Currently enrolled in a Utah institution of higher education.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, social media, and graphic design.
  • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience creating digital collateral and designing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
  • Ability to travel to Salt Lake City or Lehi for periodic in-person meetings, events, etc.
  • Personal computer or access to a computer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
  • A portfolio showcasing your work in social media content, design, and presentations is highly encouraged.
