Our interns will have the opportunity to work alongside passionate technologists and contribute to the development of smart access solutions powered by the myQ digital ecosystem. This internship will not only enhance your technical skills but also provide you with valuable insights into the workings of a leading technology company. Interns will engage in various development and skills training sessions that cover essential workplace success topics, from time management to effective communication. Networking opportunities are abundant, as events are organized for interns and full-time employees to foster early-career connections. Each intern will be paired with a mentor, a full-time employee who will provide guidance throughout the program. Additionally, interns will have the chance to meet and learn from our CEO and other leaders through intimate Q&A sessions, gaining insights into the company's vision and strategy. The internship will focus on developing elements for websites and mobile experiences, allowing you to gain hands-on experience with languages and platforms such as Objective-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin, Android, and iOS. You will assist in implementing layout and functionality specifications, contribute to multi-screen development, and participate in brainstorming sessions for user experience (UI/UX) solutions. This role is an excellent opportunity to research digital development trends and functionality solutions while working closely with our Development team to ensure projects are completed on time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop elements for mobile and similar digital projects
  • Assist in implementing layout and functionality specifications
  • Assist Development team in completing projects on time
  • Participate in brainstorming of user experience (UI/UX) and web and mobile development solutions
  • Contribute to multi-screen development including implementation of mobile-responsive design
  • Research digital development trends and functionality solutions

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in software testing and/or programming in Java/Kotlin/Swift
  • Must be able to work from our Oakbrook, IL office (15 miles west of Chicago) 3 days a week

Nice-to-haves

  • Intern or co-op experience
  • Rising Senior standing towards a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields of study from an accredited college or university
  • Track record of leadership on campus and starting portfolio
  • Proficient with MS Office tools
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and to rapidly learn and adapt to new business processes, technologies, and environments
  • Self-driven, organized, goal-oriented individual with a positive attitude
  • Functional knowledge of Version Control Systems (GIT)
  • Awareness of the latest development trends and ability to adapt these trends into web and mobile functionality
