About the position

The Graduate Intern position at General Atomics offers an opportunity for students in Opto Mechanical Engineering to gain practical experience within the Electromagnetic Systems team. The role involves assisting in various tasks under supervision, contributing to problem-solving, and developing reports and diagrams while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the day-to-day activities of the assigned functional area.
• Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate, and resolve problems.
• Helps in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams, and charts.
• Observes all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations during business operations.
• Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Requirements

• Active enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university.
• Completion of undergraduate degree by the time the internship begins, with plans to continue in a graduate program immediately after the internship.
• 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
• Ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
• Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures.
• Basic communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal professionals.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CAD software.

Benefits

• Hourly pay rate of $37.00 per hour.
• Salary range of $44,590-$66,295.
