About the position

The Data Analyst intern at Micron Technology will play a crucial role in enhancing the business planning process through the application of analytics and statistical methodologies. This position involves collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to gather requirements from Product Managers and Business Line Managers. The intern will translate these requirements into a functional analytical model aimed at improving demand forecasting efficiency. Additionally, the intern will identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the business planning process. In this role, the intern will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges. They will propose innovative and practical solutions that enable fact-based decision-making. The intern will develop analytics solutions using Python and data architectures with Microsoft SQL Server, employing statistical methods such as linear regression and classification to facilitate smart forecasting. Furthermore, the intern will present findings, recommendations, and project updates to team members and executives from the Storage Business Unit, and assist in implementing recommended process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges.
• Propose innovative and practical solutions to enable fact-based decision making.
• Develop analytics solutions using Python & data architectures using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Use linear regression, classification, and other statistical methods to enable smart forecasting.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to all team members and executives from the Storage Business Unit.
• Recommend process improvements and assist in their implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Statistics or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
• Must be a current student, must not graduate before September 2024.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Proficiency in Tableau, Python & SQL is a must.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in requirement gathering techniques, process modeling, and documentation.
