About the position

Dunmore International Corp is seeking a motivated and analytical Keystone Plant Intern to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, production optimization, and manufacturing processes. This internship is ideal for engineering students and offers exposure to real-world data-driven decision-making within a manufacturing environment, focusing on machine downtime analysis and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data related to machine downtime, production performance, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Use statistical tools and software to interpret data, identifying trends, patterns, and root causes of inefficiencies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on data analysis, including findings on downtime analysis, production performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Present recommendations for process optimization and equipment performance enhancements to the team.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of data analysis processes and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility of findings.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills related to manufacturing processes, data analysis, and production optimization.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, advancements in manufacturing technology, and data analysis techniques to bring innovative ideas to the team.
  • Participate in team meetings and workshops to gain insights into plant operations and industry best practices.
  • Travel and connect with interns from across the company at the Steel Partners intern summit.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields).
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to work with large data sets.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools and software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or other data analysis platforms).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for report preparation and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience or coursework related to manufacturing, OEE, or production optimization.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or willingness to learn.
