About the position

Cummins Inc. is offering a unique opportunity for undergraduate business students to join our team as an intern in the Project Coordinator role within the Purchasing department. This internship is designed to provide meaningful work experience while allowing you to explore your passions and make an impact in a supportive and inclusive environment. The internship will last for 13 months, starting on January 27, 2025, and can be undertaken either full-time or part-time at our Scoresby office in Melbourne, Australia. As an intern, you will have the chance to work on various projects across the broader Supply Chain Function. Your responsibilities will include engaging with stakeholders, conducting data analysis, and managing change initiatives. You will support the Direct Procurement function by analyzing supplier trends and market conditions to recommend sourcing strategies that mitigate continuity risks. Additionally, you will validate yearly spending data and provide insights for sourcing strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and assist in developing internal communications. This internship is not just about gaining experience; it is about making a real impact on our supply chain processes and contributing to the success of Cummins Asia Pacific. You will collaborate with various stakeholders across the business, enhancing your communication and analytical skills while working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the Direct Procurement function with a focus on emerging and declining suppliers' trends.
  • Conducting business analytics and studying market trends to recommend sourcing plans that mitigate suppliers' continuity risks.
  • Validating yearly spends in Data Hub/Sievo and providing data analysis for sourcing strategies.
  • Involving in cross-functional work streams with Planning, Business/Sales, and Supply Continuity relating to the launch of new suppliers, new products, and pricing setup.
  • Facilitating discussions under the guidance of the manager to achieve the aims of the assigned work plan.
  • Supporting the development of internal communications, including research and content generation.
  • Analyzing metrics and data insights to enhance Cummins Asia Pacific's supply chain processes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders from across the business.

Requirements

  • Currently studying a Bachelor degree in Business or related disciplines.
  • Have between 1 and 8 units of study left to complete of your undergraduate degree as of January 2025.
  • Available for the full 13 months and willing to defer studies for that duration.
