About the position

The Molina Healthcare Internship Program aims to provide students with a steppingstone into the healthcare business profession. Interns will engage in special projects and various duties that offer valuable professional work experience and insights into the healthcare industry. The internship focuses on developing talent through experiential learning, formal training, and opportunities to interact with healthcare professionals and community leaders, allowing interns to gain meaningful work experience alongside skilled professionals while understanding Molina's culture, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Learn Molina business and the providers we serve
  • Learn the different programs we offer our members - Medicaid, Medicare and Marketplace
  • Learn the Federal and State requirements for each program - Provider Network Adequacy, Network Capacity and Provider Education
  • Learn to navigate through Molina's various systems - QNXT, QuickBase, Conga, Quest and PEMS
  • Work closely with the Molina team and providers through effective verbal and written communications
  • Act as a business partner with internal departments and providers to assist with problem-solving and addressing provider contract questions and requests
  • Assist with contract loads within the Conga system to ensure up-to-date and accurate information available to the Molina organization

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with preference in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration
  • Possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and ability to develop relationships
  • Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Computer experience including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with internet research
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
