About the position

The Molina Healthcare Internship Program aims to provide students with a steppingstone into the healthcare business profession. Interns will engage in special projects and various duties designed to offer valuable professional work experience and insights into the healthcare industry. This internship focuses on Quality Improvement, allowing interns to understand the healthcare landscape, particularly in relation to Michigan Medicaid, and to work alongside professionals to enhance health outcomes for Medicaid beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution of Quality Improvement interventions for members and providers.
  • Learn and apply the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Model of Quality Improvement.
  • Work closely with QI Provider Engagement, QI Compliance, QI Analytics, and Quality Interventions teams.
  • Utilize quality analytics to inform interventions and improve health equity.
  • Explore concepts of Population Health Management, Health Equity, and Quality Improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, pre-med, nursing, social work, dental care, health care administration, or public health.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to develop collaborative working relationships.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $20.29 - $21.66.
