About the position

The Molina Healthcare Internship Program aims to provide students with a steppingstone into the healthcare business profession. Interns will engage in special projects and various duties that offer valuable professional work experience and insights into the healthcare industry. This internship focuses on Quality Improvement, allowing interns to understand the healthcare landscape, particularly in Michigan, and the intersection of care provision and payment for care. Interns will work alongside professionals to gain insights into Molina's culture, mission, and values while contributing to meaningful work that impacts Medicaid beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about healthcare quality and its impact on Medicaid beneficiaries in Michigan.
  • Explore Population Health Management, Health Equity, and Quality Improvement concepts.
  • Apply the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Model of Quality Improvement to enhance health outcomes for Medicaid recipients.
  • Collaborate with QI Provider Engagement, QI Compliance, QI Analytics, and Quality Interventions teams.
  • Assist in executing Quality Improvement interventions that address perinatal health, behavioral health, and dental health.
  • Utilize quality analytics to inform interventions and improve health equity.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, pre-med, nursing, social work, dental care, health care administration, or public health.
  • Possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
