About the position

The Molina Healthcare Internship Program aims to provide students with a steppingstone into the healthcare business profession. Interns will engage in special projects and various duties designed to offer valuable professional work experience and insights into the healthcare industry. The internship focuses on developing talent through experiential learning, formal training, and opportunities to interact with healthcare professionals and community leaders, while gaining insight into Molina's culture, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Perform meaningful work alongside talented professionals in the healthcare field.
  • Assist with the execution of member and provider-facing Quality Improvement interventions.
  • Study the effectiveness of Quality Improvement interventions for members and providers.
  • Support Health Equity analytics and decision-making processes.
  • Learn and apply the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Model of Quality Improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in healthcare, healthcare administration, or public health-related areas.
  • Possess clear and professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and ability to develop relationships.
  • Good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer experience including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with internet research.
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement concepts and Population Health Management.
