About The Position

The R&D Engineer Intern will engage in original design and testing across various technologies to enhance products in the medical device market, specifically in Interventional Urology. This role involves providing technical support to interdepartmental teams to achieve Coloplast's business objectives for both new and existing research and development projects.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a 4-year or graduate degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Undergraduate student (completed sophomore level or higher) or Graduate student with successful completion of basic engineering coursework.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or related CAD software) is preferred.
  • Ability to develop test protocols and synthesize data to write test reports based on observed data and relevant test standards.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis (e.g., two-sample t-test, tolerance limit calculation).

Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, verify and validate devices in accordance with applicable medical regulatory standards.
  • Perform original design under the guidance of project engineers/scientists, developing design specifications, conducting DOEs, and creating verification protocols/reports.
  • Participate in hands-on problem solving and resolution.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of lab work and test results related to assigned projects.
