Enterprise Community Partners - San Francisco, CA
posted 2 months ago
Enterprise is a national nonprofit dedicated to making a good home possible for millions of families without one. Our Northern California office is focused on addressing the pressing affordable housing issues in California, particularly in the Bay Area. As an intermediary, we provide technical assistance, convene practitioners and advocacy coalitions, and collaborate with various partners, including public agencies, community-based organizations, affordable housing developers, researchers, and funders. Our mission is to expand resources and eliminate barriers for the production and preservation of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income Californians, promote racial equity and economic opportunity, prevent homelessness and housing instability, and advance inclusive development that supports housing affordability and environmental sustainability. The Research and Policy Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the policy and research efforts of the Northern California Office. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals at the beginning of their careers to apply their research, data, and writing skills in a mission-driven environment. The intern will primarily assist with a research contract with the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development and the San Francisco Planning Department, focusing on strategies for site acquisition and land banking. This position will also involve supporting other research and policy projects as needed. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, possess exceptional organizational skills, and have strong written and verbal communication abilities. This internship offers a unique opportunity for mentorship, allowing the intern to work closely with the Policy Team and gain valuable insights into the workings of Enterprise and the affordable housing sector. The internship is expected to start in September 2024 and conclude by mid-December, with an expected commitment of approximately 10 hours per week.
